"My children really love it at Stanley - both my little ones and my teenager have connected with the people and the ministry. I think it's important for them to enjoy their religious experience, and they sure do at Stanley. Maybe it will give them a little less to rebel against and more to be connected with."
Children and Youth
Sunday School classes are held during the school year for young people
ages 3 through 8th grade. Young adults in high school are encouraged to
participate in worship as readers, ushers, greeters, as well as to assist in
teaching Sunday School or helping with childcare.
Confirmation is held every-other year for young people in their high
school years. Led by the minister, these monthly sessions invite our
young people to explore their faith through a variety of topics and experiences. Our Confirmation classes tend to be experiential. We believe that our young people learn by doing and being. What better way to connect more deeply with the Sacred than to actually experience that connection during class!!!
Pilgrim Fellowship is a place for people in grades 6-12 to come together for fun, fellowship and service. We encourage our young people to bring their friends. Our main focus is service, but we value authentic experiences of all kinds: spiritual, cultural or just fun. Usually see each other a couple of times a month, especially in Stanley’s kitchen.
We are an Open and Affirming group. We have opened our doors to Chatham High School’s Gay Straight Alliance to host their coffee house.
